There are many users who are going through a slow website loading speed problem and are not able to fix it in any way.

Although we all have to deal with this problem a little bit, but sometimes our website level becomes too slow.

Today we will discuss this topic and learn how to increase our website loading speed.

  • How to increase website loading speed?

Why website loading speed needs to be faster?

There is a need to speed up website loading which plays an important role in your website.

  1. All the search engines like Google or Bing rank those websites which have fast loading speed. If you want your website to rank, then your website loading speed must be fast. Otherwise, no matter how good the content of your website, you will not be able to rank or get more visitors.
  2. A survey has shown that if the loading speed of a website is more than 2 seconds then it has a bounce rate of more than 48%. This means that if you want to keep up to 50% of your website visitors, then your website speed will slow down in 2 seconds.
  3. If your website takes too long to load, visitors will leave before they can access your website. And the loading speed of your website needs to be faster on computer as well as mobile devices.

That means if you want to increase the SEO of your website and rank it in search engines like Google or Bing.

Or if your visitors spend more time on your website then your website loading time must be faster.

How to measure website speed?

We need to know in advance whether our website speed is fast or slow or fast or slow.

Not only this, with the help of this website you can do wonders if your website is slow or slow.

There are many of us who think that our website speed is fast but that is not always the case especially for new visitors.

When we visit a website, some files of that website are loaded in our browser which we can visit quickly the next time we visit that website.

But when a new visitor wants to enter a website, the situation is completely different.

You can use the following websites to measure your website speed.

You can easily measure your website speed by using the above 3 website speed checking tools.

From GTmetrix and Pingdom you can measure website speed from these two websites and also understand the reasons why your website is slow which I have discussed below.

How to speed up website loading speed?

Now we will know how to speed up the loading speed of our WordPress website in few ways.

1. Select a good hosting

Bad hosting providers are a big reason for slow website speeds. If you are taking hosting from a general hosting provider then you must read this problem.

There are many hosting providers who sell hosting at low prices or discounts to attract buyers.

The mistake that can easily get your claim denied is to fail.

Those who may offer all things unlimited at low prices but the server is never good.

So when buying hosting be sure to buy hosting from a popular and trusted hosting provider such as Bluehost, SiteGround, DegitalOcean and A2 Hosting.

You may have to pay a little more, but you will never have to face such problems.

Another big mistake we make when buying hosting is that we always go for buying shared hosting.

Because the cost of Shared Hosting is lower than other hosting but in Shared Hosting the resources on one server are shared with more customers or users so Shared Hosting is always slow.

So when taking hosting, you must select a good hosting provider and try to get Managed WordPress Hosting or Cloud Hosting.

2. Select light and well coded themes

Your website speed also depends on your WordPress theme. A poor coding and heavy theme can easily slow down your website speed a lot.

There are many free WordPress themes that look good and have a lot of sliders or various artwork but if that WordPress theme is not well coded or light and responsive then your website will slow down a lot.

So keep these things in mind while selecting the WordPress theme. I have posted an article on Quick, Light and Responsive WordPress Theme.

3. Use the Content Delivery Network (CDN)

Let me tell you a little about CDN.

CDN (Content Delivery Network) is a server-driven platform that helps to quickly load web page content by reducing the physical distance between the server and the user.

Suppose your hosting server is in USA and if a person visits your website from USA then loading speed will get much faster.

Conversely, if a visitor visits your website from India or Bangladesh, the loading speed will be slow because in that case the distance between the visitor and the server is longer.

On the other hand, when you use CDN, it is connected to a server near the location from which your visitors will visit your website, thus speeding up the loading speed.

Cloudflare is a popular free CDN service you can use.

4. Use Caching Plugin

There are some plugins in WordPress that really help us in different ways, there are some caching plugins that will speed up the loading speed of your site.

Among the WordPress caching plugins I have personally found using plugins to get results:

Be sure to use any one of the caching plugins. Never use two plugins together.

5. Compress and optimize images or photos

Another reason for slow loading of website is heavy and high resolution photos.

We unknowingly upload heavy and high resolution images with our blog posts and as a result loading speed slows down or decreases.

So the next time you link photos or images to your blog post, be sure to compress and optimize them.

Fortunately, there are many free WordPress plugins that allow you to easily compress and optimize your images.

It has a popular free plugin called Smush which will automatically compress and optimize your images and your image or photo quality will not be lost.

I am using Smush plugin which is really awesome so I suggest you to use this plugin.

6. Add LazyLoad to the website image

When a visitor visits your website, it takes a long time for all the images on your website to be loaded and visible at once, which in turn reduces the loading speed of your website.

But when you add a lazy load to a website image, only the part of the user's website that is using Tuku is loaded if there is an image in that place.

And as he scrolls down, one image after another begins to load.

Since not all images are loaded at once, your website opens faster.

You can get the lazy load features in the Smush plugin discussed above and you can also use either Autoptimize or A3 Lazy Load.

7. Optimize the WordPress database

You can increase the speed of your website a little more by cleaning or optimizing the WordPress database.

As a result of our repeated use of WordPress in various ways, some unused junk files accumulate in the database which you can clean to increase both your website performance and speed.

You can use the WP-Optimize plugin to optimize and clean the database of your WordPress website.

8. Remove unnecessary scripts, plugins, themes and other things

Remove or delete Facebook page likes, subscription pop up boxes and other unnecessary scripts.

And if there are any themes or plugins that are not being used at all, then you must remove them.

Delete any themes you have installed, except the one you are using, as well as any plugins that you are not using.

This is because they will unnecessarily increase your HTTP request which will reduce the loading speed of your website.
